About
Future Leaders
We started on a path, where we wanted to enable and empower future leaders who could uphold humanity and create a difference.
What is the program
Future Leaders is a program for finding and nurturing world’s most promising youth leaders. Through a tested and intense selection process, these Future Leaders are given access to high impact leadership development coaching and opportunities.
Future Leaders are the youth in high school and undergraduate programs who have the potential to create meaningful influence on topics of relevance. The topics can be based on their own interests and passion; as well as current issues which affect people, society and economy. For example music, technology, education, mental health, gender equality, income enhancement, jobs, sports, smart cities etc.
Students undergo a classroom curriculum facilitated by 1M1B trainers helping them get skilled in Industrial Revolution 4.0 skills and work on real world projects that create real on-ground impact; projects are identified by students based on their passion.
Based on their project work, students are selected to participate in a 3-day trip to New York with an opportunity to showcase their impact at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.

Testimonials
I secured admission to UC Berkeley and received a full ride scholarship from UNC- Chapel Hill. Without 1M1B, I would’ve never been able to realize my passion for the field of entrepreneurship and serve underprivileged communities. I’d like to thank the entire organisation for teaching me valuable skills and giving me the opportunity to be a part of their impact-full movement.
Srilekhya, Future Leader Graduate 2018-19
It is an indescribable feeling being inside the UN and watching our children present their impact. It is amazing to see the students develop into true leaders through the Future Leaders Program.
Malathy Narayan, Principal, NPS Rajajinagar
1M1B has sensitized me to the complex issues in my community and what I can do to have a lasting, tangible impact. The program's mentorship and curriculum has taught me how to work with various teams and organizations to optimize a solution for needy communities with a specific focus on sustainability and business. Through the Future Leaders Program, I have bolstered my problem-solving skills and communication abilities. This has helped me secure admission at the prestigious California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
Pranay Satya, Future Leader Graduate 2019
The Future Leaders program taught me how to tackle any problem I faced by approaching complex issues in our society with a different outlook - one that looks at how to create an impact instead of accepting them as problems and get bogged down by the state of things. It also helped me understand how to cater any cause to my interests and strengths ensuring that I'd be as effective as possible. These skills that the program instilled helped me secure admission at Carnegie Mellon University for Computer Science.

When I sent Arnav to New York, he was a kid going for a presentation but when he returned he is totally transformed. Thank you for nurturing our children so well and giving them so much warmth when they were away from us.
Kudos to the efforts of 1M1B.

Stories
India
Abhiram Natarajan
Abhiram worked in Bhimavaram, the aqua hub of Andhra Pradesh, India to solve the problems faced by shrimp farmers in the area. Abhiram helped setup the world’s first aqua co-innovation lab in Bhimavaram. The lab hosts various start-ups working to solve the problems faced by the farmers in the communities. One such start-up has devised a sensor which when deployed in the farmer’s pond, gives him all the details needed for constant monitoring on his mobile phone itself. This has led to an increase in the efficiency of the output by 40% and reduction in power bills by 50%, helping the farmers save almost ₹20,000 on diesel and power bills every month. Along with this Abhiram has also created a rural tourism program for school kids.
Nikita Nambiar
As part of Future Leaders, Nikita started The Project Fresh Start – an endeavor to provide a more holistic rehabilitative intervention to empower incarcerated women, both socially and financially. It hopes to give women convicts an opportunity to break the cycle of incarceration, stay out of prison, and become productive community members. 10 women inmates of Tumkur Central Jail in Bangalore, India, were trained in the fine art of making Tanjore paintings by a professional artist. Nikita has also created a website to share more information on her project. She plans on auctioning off these paintings through a charity event at a later date and forwarding the proceeds to the women directly.

Abiola Biriowo
Abiola, an African American national wanted to start an initiative to help her community members who do not have access to necessary medical services. The nearest hospital in her village is miles away and not feasible for emergency situations. She started a “Save a Life Skills Training” in her village in Zirobwe, Uganda. In 2 weeks, she was able to train 1200 people in vital life saving skills that include how to recognise a victim of cardiac arrest, unconscious people, handling heart attacks, choking and bleeding. Thanks to her project, people of this village can now address medical emergencies themselves.
Caseena Karim
Being a person of colour, Caseena decided to work on changing the negative perception that the media has created towards people of colour. Through Project Crave, Caseena creates spaces for people from her community to engage in design work and help them express their creativity. Through the project Caseena wishes to utilise design as a catalyst for change to build a positive community and a safe environment to foster the growth of the community.
